The Circus is coming, The Circus is coming. Ringling Bros. and Barnum & Bailey The Greatest Show on Earth to be exact.

I'm also VERY excited because I have the opportunity to give away 4 family 4-packs. That's 4 tickets in each family pack. Ringling Bros has enlisted the help of Mom blogger's to help spread the word. I will be having a contest this next week for 2 of the family packs and the following week for the other 2 family packs. That way if you are the lucky winner you will be able to plan ahead if needed and get extra tickets for any additional children you need to take with you or arrange for sitters for others that are too small. I was lucky enough to go to the Circus once when I was a kid. Some neighbors were going and my friend wanted me to go with. Her parents were generous enough to take me along for the ride. I remember sitting and being in just awe and amazement at all the different cool things that were going on in the different rings. I had an idea of what I thought would happen and it was far beyond and better than I had expected. I was pretty sad when it was all over and time to go home. I wished that it could lasted for hours longer.

This event celebrates the 200th anniversary of the birth of the legendary P.T. Barnum. This show will feature 130 performers from six continents, including fifteen trampoline bouncers, ten flipping gymnasts on a teeterboard, six somersaulting trapeze artists, seven motorcycle riders in the Globe of Steel, plus almost 100,000 pounds of performing pachyderms and more clowns than can be seen with two eyes.

Ringling Bros. and Barnum & Bailey® are also rolling out a new program called The Barnum Award Program. This program will recognize and support children ages six to 14, who have created social good and enriched their local community through their own inventive and pioneering actions. Award recipients in more than 75 cities throughout the United States will be chosen by a panel of distinguished local luminaries, and will receive award medals and grants to fund future local service projects. Nominees will be judged on the impact of their accomplishments, creativity and innovation, and their inspiration to others relating to their cause. Nominators are required to be over the age of 21, and must fill out a short questionnaire about the child they feel is making a difference in the community.

The Barnum Award debuts as our nation’s leadership asks people to identify needs in their community and engage in meaningful service to create change.

Three award recipients will be chosen from participating cities where Ringling Bros. and Barnum & Bailey performs. The Gold Barnum Award Recipient will receive a medallion and a $1,000 grant, the Silver Barnum Award Recipient will receive a medallion and a $750 grant, and the Bronze Barnum Award Recipient will receive a medallion and a $500 grant. Grants are to be used to fund future community service endeavors. Additionally, all three award recipients will be honored at a pre-show award ceremony during the opening night performance of The Greatest Show On Earth® in the show city selected on the nomination.

I am excited to see how things have changed and I'm sure that I will be in awe again at how talented the performers are and also in awe watching my children see the Circus for the first time. This will hopefully be an event that we make a tradition for our family.

These passes are not redeemable until our on sale date, Monday, August 16th and can only be redeemed at the EnergySolutions Arena box office. These passes are good for the Wed., Sept. 22nd 7:00 p.m., the Thur., Sept. 23rd 7:00 p.m. and the Fri., Sept 24th 3:30 p.m. performances and are valued at $25. Passes must be redeemed at the Energy Solutions Box office for hard tickets to the performance of choice, these passes can only be redeemed between Monday, August 16th and Friday, Sept. 24th.
